Module 7 - Connecting your YouTube channel to your ad account

Now I am going to talk you through how you would connect your Google Ads account with your YouTube channel. I have created a dummy account here just to show you this.

When you log into your ads account you are going to see this page. Hit the cog at the top where it says settings and billing, and give it a second to load. Then select the account option and go to linked accounts. You are given lots of different options for different apps you can connect, so scroll down until you see YouTube and then hit details. Here you click add channel, and you can simply search for a YouTube channel by name, or copy and paste the URL from your channel, which is what I am going to do right now.

So paste that in here, and you can see it has recognised the channel. Wow, we have got over 5,000 subscribers, that is amazing. Then you tick either I own this channel or someone else's channel. In this case my email address is not attributed to the channel itself, so I do not own this account, and I would say someone else owns this channel. If you do own it, you literally click I own this channel and then you would go to YouTube.

In my case I am going to complete filling this out with someone else owns this channel. It then asks you to enter the email address of the channel owner, which I would do using Simon's email address, and then send the request. At that point he would authorise me to link the account.
