AEO & AI implementation · Doncaster, working nationally
You've got questions about AI. We build the answers straight into your business.
Question.Marketing is an answer engine optimisation consultancy. We get businesses named inside the AI answers their buyers now read, across ChatGPT, Google's AI, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Copilot. And on-site across South Yorkshire, we build working AI systems: sales outreach, enquiry handling, admin and marketing, live in days, not months.
We were writing about answer engine optimisation on 4 October 2019, 1,153 days before ChatGPT launched. The dated receipts are published →

Answer engine optimisation
When AI answers, does it say your name?
Buyers now ask an AI before they Google, and the AI names two or three businesses. Search didn't die. The click did. AEO is the work that gets you into that answer: the questions your buyers actually ask, answered on your site in the format the machines read, corroborated by sources they already trust, and measured with screenshot evidence against the same defined prompts, every cycle.
Being early doesn't just help here, it entrenches. Once a model is confident you're the authority in your category and catchment, a competitor can't outbid you for the position, because there's nothing to bid on. Ask an AI about your industry. Does your name come up?
Why listen to us
The receipts, dated and published
"AEO: is your business ready?" was published on 4 October 2019, 1,153 days before ChatGPT existed. "Death of the SEO industry, it needs a cleanup" followed that November. The dated record now runs from July 2019, on video and in writing. Jason Barnard coined the term in January 2018; we adopted it and started building for it with clients before the market noticed, which is the honest version and the stronger one.
The record includes the calls we got wrong, published on purpose, because a record with no corrections in it isn't a record.
The receipts →
Five dated artefacts on a timeline, from July 2019 onwards, with the evidence embedded.
Simon's story →
Thirty years in search, what he said in 2019, and what he got wrong.
The transcript library →
Full transcripts of the record, word for word, on this domain where the machines can read them.

On-site AI implementation · South Yorkshire
Four places AI starts paying for itself
A local expert who comes to your office, finds where you're losing work and wasting hours, builds the systems with you and trains your team to run them. No rip and replace: everything wires into the inbox, CRM, website and calendar you've already got.
Sales and outreach
AI researches prospects, writes personalised first-touch messages and runs follow-up across email and LinkedIn. Ten times the outreach, same headcount.
Customer service and speed-to-lead
An AI assistant that knows your business replies to enquiries, qualifies leads and books appointments in seconds, 24/7. The 9pm enquiry gets an answer, not a "we'll be in touch" the next afternoon.
Operations and admin
Quotes, proposals, data entry, reports, inbox triage, chasing paperwork: automated, so your people do the work that grows the business.
Marketing and content
Posts, articles, email and landing pages in your voice, tied back to lead generation. Content turnaround goes from weeks to days.
A typical first week: day one we come to you and map the bottlenecks; day two we pick the one or two wins with the fastest payback; days three and four we build and connect; day five we train your team. Then it's live. Days, not quarters.
In their words
What clients say after the first session
The reaction we hear most often isn't about the technology. It's about the time it hands back.
"You have changed my life. This has freed up at least half my working week."
Said after a single one-hour session walking through Claude AI and how it fits their day-to-day.
"I don't need any admin staff now! This is going to give my staff so much more time to work on keeping customers happy and servicing new business enquiries."
Said half-joking, then straight after in earnest, once they saw the admin load lift off the team.

Straight answers
The questions we get asked most
What is answer engine optimisation (AEO)?
AEO is the work that gets your business named when someone asks an AI assistant like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or Perplexity for a recommendation. It means answering the questions your buyers actually ask, on pages that are structured, dated and citable, so the answer engines can quote you rather than a competitor.
How is AEO different from SEO?
SEO competes for a list of links a shrinking number of people click. AEO competes for the answer itself, which usually names two or three businesses. They share some plumbing; they don't share an outcome. There is no rank. There is being named, or not.
How much does it cost?
Published, in full, on the pricing page: three levels at £1,250, £1,995 and £3,495 a month, with a £495 AI Visibility Audit as the front door, credited against your first month. No discovery call needed to see a price.
Do you do AEO and AI implementation together?
Yes, and they reinforce each other. The same question research that makes you citable to the machines is what makes your outreach and your enquiry handling land with real buyers. Most clients start with one and add the other.
Do I need to be technical, or have an IT department?
No. That's the whole point of having a local expert build it with you. We handle the technical side and hand you systems your team can actually use, with training so nobody's left guessing.
Will it work with the software we already use?
In almost all cases, yes. We build around your existing inbox, CRM, website and calendar rather than asking you to rip everything out and start again. The consultation confirms exactly what connects to what.
Which areas do you cover?
AEO clients we work with nationally. On-site AI implementation runs across Doncaster, Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and the wider South Yorkshire region. If you're nearby and not sure, just ask.
What if I just want to understand what's possible?
That's a perfectly good reason to book. Both starting points are designed to give you a clear, honest picture and a plan you can use, with no obligation to go any further.
