One of the great things about YouTube as a channel to advertise on is that you can educate far longer than on traditional TV, in a way that probably beats any other channel in marketing. People are moving away from complicated text-based content and towards video, because video is a much easier way to consume how to do something, and people are already searching YouTube to find things out. The key is that there's no time constraint: you're not paying for a fixed 30 second ad or a 60 second cinema slot, so you can properly educate a viewer about your product, service or brand.
If you were a car brand, for example, you could really talk someone through all the benefits of a new car. You're paying for a click or an action, but that's pennies, not thousands. You could run for six minutes, ten minutes, twenty minutes if you wanted, or keep it down to a couple of minutes, and still tell a proper story that genuinely educates the viewer about why they should be using your product or service.
